MemoCall – MWI
MemoCall is an application based on the MWI (Message Waiting Indication) protocol which is in turn based on the subscribe/modify mechanism of the SIP protocol. This protocol was specifically created to provide real-time notifications on the status of a multimedia mailbox (voice messages, email, fax, etc.).
In the Business Communication Server it is used to notify the state of a particular type of ‘mailbox’, i.e. the call register: every call made or received by a user is considered as if it were a message (it consists of a number of fixed fields: address of the caller or the recipient of the call, date, duration, direction, outcome, …).
MemoCall constantly builds and updates the call register (incoming, outgoing and missed calls) for each user of the BCS Unified Communications system using the statistics database as a starting point.
